Ramon Pineda


General Manager of Univision 41

Ramón Pineda serves as a senior vice president and general manager of Univision Television Group. He oversees the operations of stations in New York and Philadelphia. He is also responsible for local news and programming, advertising sales, on-air promotions, marketing, and community relations in these markets.

Mr. Pineda’s professional experience in Spanish-language media and marketing spans more than 22 years and encompasses senior positions at various broadcast television, cable television, and radio companies. He previously served as general manager and vice president of the Univisionand UniMás stations in Arizona.

Mr. Pineda is currently the chair of the board of the Hispanic Federation, a New York area membership organization that supports over 100 non-profits. He also sits on the boards of the New York State Broadcasters Association and El Repertorio Español, an arts organization that presents plays in Spanish of interest to the Hispanic community.

Mr. Pineda is a member of the Ad Council New York Leadership Committee, RMHC/HACER Scholarship Selection Committee; the American Hispanic Advertisers Association; and theInternational Radio and Television Society (IRTS). Mr. Pineda graduated magna cum laude from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut

El Movimiento Music Publishing (BMI) y Songs of El Movimiento Music Publishing (ASCAP), a partir de la firma realizada por su presidente Anthony Espinal, nombre de pila de J’Martin con el presidente de The Royalty Network, Inc., Frank Liwall, acordaron que esta última será el administrador mundialmente del catálogo musical de J’Martin.

El repertorio de El Movimiento Music Publishing (BMI) incluye los temas “Amor ajeno”, “Aprende a ser infiel”, “Como olvidar”, “Eres mi dios”, “Inténtalo” (Featuring Magic Juan), “Leyes del amor”, “Me voy triste”, “Mi sueño hecho mujer”, “No soy tu tipo” (Featuring Melina León), “Quiero que me quieras”, “Volver empezar”, todos pertenecientes al primer álbum de J’Martin.

Vincent Santana


Chief Administrative Officer of the Department of Neurology at Columbia University

During his professional tenure at Columbia University Vincent Santana has worked in research for 18 years. As the program manager for EFIGA-Estudio Familiar Influencia Genetica en Alzheimer, he was responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary recruitment in three countries.

This is a study funded by the National Institutes of Health started in Washington Heights which was expanded to the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico and aims to recruit families with multiple members affected with Alzheimer’s disease.

Currently that study is the largest of its kind in the world with over 1,000 families participating. Since 2008 he has held several Administrative positions, currently he is the Chief Administrative Officer for the Department of Neurology and is responsible for Operations, IT and Human Resources. Professionally, he is a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) and a candidate for Fellowship in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

Santana is a Columbia University Senator representing the Medical Campus, which is in Washington Heights, and sits on several subcommittees that form policy. His interests include expanding healthcare access for all especially the Hispanic Community and increasing diversity within the ranks of healthcare and higher education.

Eliza Esquivel

Eliza Esquivel, VP Global Brand Strategy at Mondelēz International, is responsible for nurturing the $36 billion start-ups portfolio of high growth global brands (e.g. Oreo and Cadbury among others).

She leads an international team of strategists who provide brand strategy and creative development support to Mondelēz brands as well as thought leadership to the global organization.

Eliza is a progressive thinker with a balance of classical planning, creative and integrated strategic skills accumulated across a range of global brands including Coke, Nike, McDonald’s, Philips, Accenture and Skittles.

Chef Ricardo Cardona is a self-trained chef with over twenty years’ experience in American, French and Latin cuisines.

He began his career working in the some of the nation’s leading restaurants. His hands-on, classical training is evident in his work that portrays a fusion of the range of culinary styles.

Cardona has been the Executive Chef at several New York metropolitan restaurants: Mamajuana Café, Hudson River Cafe and Chef at Lua, Josephina, Time Cafe and Disney Land. He is currently the Executive Chef at Sofrito, Sazon and Chef Consultant at the newly opened Z BAR Restaurant & Sky-Lounge in Hell’s Kitchen.

In addition, as a lover of baseball, he is proud to be the head chef for the New York Yankees and visiting teams.

Alejandra Gastelum


Shoe Designer

Alejandra Gastelum, being a true shoe aficionado, was inspired to begin sketching her own designs.

True to her entrepreneurial nature, she began pursuing her connections in the fashion world to obtain interest for her sketches, which led to a meeting with Joe Ouaknine, a well-respected shoe industry magnate and owner of Titan Industries.

Mr. Ouaknine thought Alejandra’s designs were bold, beautiful and ambitious. He was so impressed with Alejandra’s talent and enthusiasm for shoe design that he decided to take her under his wing and mentor her, which would eventually lead to Alejandra becoming one of the most sought after shoe designers.

Lucia brings her 25 years of experience in Hispanic media, and has been at the helm of leading Hispanic media brands such as Univision’s Galavision, MTV Tr3s and most recently People en Español, the largest selling Hispanic magazine in the United States.

Lucia was named a “Media All Star” by Adweek’s Marketing y Medios, and was profiled in The Hollywood Reporter’s “Latino Power 50″ list. Lucia currently serves on the board of the Hispanic Federation, and is a Commissioner of Mayor Bloomberg’s Latin Media Entertainment and Media Commission.
