Nominate A Trendsetter:
What is a “Trendsetter”?
A trendsetter is a leader and innovator in the community. S/he is someone who leads the pack through his/her deeds and actions. S/he is someone who is not afraid to be different.
A trendsetter is: the community leader who organized a program in your neighborhood; a groundbreaking executive in corporate America; the lady next door who took in an abandoned kid; a leading political figure; the bodega owner who gives credit and allows families in your community to eat; an artist or performer who has changed or is changing music and the arts; a risk taking sports figure; the small business owner who is working on the next great idea; a student who dropped out to raise a child, but returned to earn a college degree.
In the end, a trendsetter is someone who, through his/her actions, helps to define the U.S. Latino experience and culture and — most of all — makes you feel proud to be Latino! How do you nominate someone for a 2011 Latino Trendsetter Award? Easy…just fill out the form below. It will be reviewed by our committee.
How are the entries judged?
Entries are judged by a committee of LatinTRENDS staff & collaborators / partners from a variety of professional backgrounds. Each entry is judged on:
- what the entrant did to further define the U.S. Latino experience and culture.
- How the entrant is an innovator and leader in his/her field.
- Why the entrant’s accomplishments have or are influencing Latino culture and the mainstream.
